Welcome to Project: Gorgon!

Project: Gorgon is a 3D fantasy MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game) that features an immersive experience that allows the player to forge their own path through exploration and discovery. We won't be guiding you through a world on rails, and as a result there are many hidden secrets awaiting discovery. Project: Gorgon also features an ambitious skill based leveling system that bucks the current trend of pre-determined classes, thus allowing the player to combine skills in order to create a truly unique playing experience.

The Project: Gorgon development team is led by industry veteran Eric Heimburg. Eric has over a decade of experience working as a Senior and Lead Engineer, Developer, Designer and Producer on successful games such as Asheron’s Call 1 and 2, Star Trek Online and other successful Massively Multiplayer Online Games.

This game has no competitive aspects asides from bragging rights. If you're going to brag about how much you spent on it, who exactly are you trying to out do? And even then if you're of the opinion that you just want to support the game, (like Khay), it shouldn't matter how much you bought in/paid as it's about the game, nothing else.

I can't honestly remember how I found PG but I backed the kickstarter in 2015 and have played on and off since, I'm just a casual player who enjoys the game. The most important thing with investments is being able to think to yourself "Yes" with the question being 'Was this worth it?'.

Undoubtedly, PG has been worth it.

I am going to keep this general and not quote anyone, thus the thread may not get closed as quickly after it turns into a flame war.

The OP originally started a thread on 3/6 re questions about the benefits from the various patron packages. He/she received only 1 nicely detailed answer. On 3/8 the OP tries again and words it a little bit differently and out come the projections (google it if you don't know what projection is) and pitchforks.

To answer the OP question. Several years ago I received a call from an old AC2 buddy saying AC2 was back and also that Citan was dev'ing his own game. I saved the link for what Citan was doing and immediately started playing AC2 again. I've checked in on the Citan project over the years but didn't start playing/testing it. When the notice was put out that AC2 was closing those of us left of like mind decided to try PG. I loved it.

After playing a couple of weeks I looked over the packages, making a list of what they involved. All I cared about is a horse and a house. So while the $500 package would give me those I asked my husband if he cared if I bought us each the $1000 package. That way I got what I wanted out of the game and I was also supporting the game. I've tried many games and PG is the only one that I've enjoyed outside of AC2.

So that addresses the OP question. Now to address all of those that opined with their pitchforks. No where did the OP say or indicate anything such as..."Hey how much are you giving to PG cause I want us to flex muscles and brag." Obviously written text can be interpreted differently but I really feel as though the OP was immediately attacked and intimidated for simply asking about the packages. And outside of the original thread re packages he still didn't get a lot of detail about why you'd pick the package you did.

Being the recipient of said pitchforks last month I decided to take a couple week break and think about the game some before spending money. The people I know ingame I've known for years and like and respect them. When I was pitchforked ingame and on the forum last month, I received many nice pm's on the forum and ingame to just ignore them. I decided to do that and I've decided to go with the $500 packages. It gives me the horse and the house. That way I can lock the front door and the pitchforkers will have to actually peek in my windows to watch me mule. And if the pitchforking doesn't stop and I decide not to continue playing then I don't have as much invested in the game.

I guess we were just insulated in AC2 because we didn't have much if any negatively on our forums or ingame. There were people that had different opinions re boxing/botting etc but we had a small community like PG has and people weren't usually attacked like they are here.

I get that some have been around for a long time and wear it like a badge but given that the game will be releasing at some point this year, we're going to have another influx of players. In some ways I think the AC/AC2 player influx was a nice test.

For those that were beaten as a child, their spouse cheated on them, they were born ugly, whatever excuse you want to use for your immediate need to mistrust, jump all over people, use pitchforks, etc please take a breath. The majority of gamers aren't coming to the forums or game trying to brag or cheat. They simply want additional information. People have already posted complaining about people asking questions in general chat so many people come to the forums to get questions answered.

If your desire is to keep the game in beta and keep a small community of those that have been here for a long time then you probably need to talk to Citan because I am fairly certain he didn't go through all this trouble for that. If Citans plans pan out then more players will come and you will have to learn to adjust or I guess just craft more pitchforks.

My point outside of answering the OPs question, lay down the pitchforks, no one is trying to burn down Serb.

No no no I said "I don't want to flex my gaming muscle' because if you read the posts above mine, well 'nuff said' Who would want to tell what they paid after reading that ? Nothing against that poster was her/his opinion but I am certainly not going to say what I got when it is very clearly looked down upon so for me the best answer was "I am not going to tell because I don't want to look like the person the above poster just described"

Need to read a little more between the lines there but the rest of your post is great. (Don't assume you know why people said what they said in other words)

There is no way in the environment presented I would talk about my package

(PS won't it eventually show as a forum title anyway? I don't care about that but anyway.....there will always be jealousy when people can afford more than another person and trust me that goes on in any hobby and any game)

Worry not, I wasn't referring to you and flexing. Nor did you come off that way.

And yes, you read between the lines well. Thank you.

I'm with Khaylara. I don't think discussing relative player wealth is going to help the game.

I would find a discussion along the lines of "Which benefits in the game packages do you find particularly appealing?" to be interesting. If it moves on to "What did you actually buy?" then the discussion is basically going to be appeal vs spare cash, and the spare cash answer is going to depend on each player's personal finances. I don't really feel the need to know that. For one thing, I'm not really into sharing private stuff. For another, I think talking too much about money can get divisive, as Khaylara said. It doesn't have to go as far as flexing muscles but I don't think comparing financial situations is really an appropriate topic for a public game forum.

If you really want to share how much exactly you spend on games, I'm not going to try to lock down this thread to stop you. Just saying that I think there are better ways to discuss this topic than going into exact money amounts.

Well the only issue is since everyone knows what comes with each tier and you discuss why you chose that tier (say for the benefits and why those mattered to you enough to part with that much cash) then people are just by default going to figure out what you spent . No way to talk about the benefits vs non benefits of each tier without people knowing sort of what you think or paid

There is nothing wrong with supporting the game. I think the issue might be people who have been here on this game a looooooong time but maybe are broke in real life feeling somewhat minimized by people coming in late in the game, dropping a hunk of dough and then acting like they own the place

That is just my guess why people are getting a little persnickety to talk of this stuff.

I chose the $100 option, and have had my moneys worth over and over again. I shall soon buy another pack I imagine, and probably back some more before release. I have spent tons of money over the years on MMOs and being able to donate to a game in the making is great, especially one that is so entertaining. I don't think twice about going out for dinner or for a load of drinks or to a gig or something and spending a load of money on one night out, PG is super value!

It makes no difference if you have been here 1 day or since day 1, everyone is equal. Same as it makes no difference if you have spent £1000 or $1.. no ones opinion counts more than anyone else. As long as people remember that everything will be fine.

Right , that is how I feel But I think some are worried about it. As otherwise I can't imagine being upset that someone spent more than you . Just my 3 cents
