Hello everyone.
Today i randomly came across Gorgon on Steam, a few days ago i decided to stop my World of Warcraft subscription for the simple reason that i don't support the company anymore so since that day i have been looking for a new mmorpg, i love the genre, i never played old school mmorpg's like Ultima Online, Everquest, Gorgon seems to want to give people those vibes of the so called golden age of the genre that i didn't get to experience.
I don't know much about Project Gorgon, in terms of the few videos i watched it does look interesting, i understand that it is in early access but i saw a post from the game dev letting people know of the struggles both with the company at a financial level, shortage of staff and also personally being affected my struggles and a cowardly decease called cancer, i had several episodes of that within my family so i can relate and i wish them the best of vibes trying to fight this.
I would lie if i would say that seeing the game struggles didn't concern me, it did, i think any potential new player or almost everyone would feel the same, now i don't know much about Gorgon, what a player can do? Is the world, so far, big to explore or planned to be expanded more? Is there a form of economy where players can buy and sell from each other? Dungeons and raids? Caves, crypts and other underground areas to discover?
One thing that also spreads a bad image, lack of a better term, for me about this game is reading and hearing videos where people have specified that devs here can be harsh with the ban hammer by simply using chat to express doubts or concerns about the game, on one of the videos actually the person mentions that several people that supported and backed the game from the beginning never got their titles and several were also banned...from an outside perspective Gorgon seems interesting and deep but also some posts and several comments from people about how things have been managed here can be a big turn off.
I'm just trying to find a new mmorpg to call home, i'm just wondering how some of the things mentioned above are true.
I wish you all a great day, stay safe.
