Hi everyone,
I'd like to get into tailoring, so I can make my own cloth gear as a mage, and would like some tips.
It seems like there are a few intertwining skills in the game that you need to work on in order to get tailoring up and running.
First of all, you need to raise Gardening to level 35 to grow cotton. I was wondering, how do I get gardening up to level 35? Well, I was storing away strange dust from grinding skeletons, and had about 300 of them. I made 300 worth of fertiliser from it and got my gardening to level 22. You may think it was probably a stupid idea to waste all the precious fertiliser, and you probably are correct. Now, I need to get from level 22 to level 35, and I probably need more fertiliser to do that? I was wondering what's the quickest way to do this leveling to get cotton at 35? Remember Therese in Serbule Keep is the gardener, and she loves necklaces, so I've been farming stomachs and getting necklaces at the same time, and handing them in. Necklaces are common from the feral bulls north of Etibule Keep. Once, I get enough favour with her, I will probably try growing some higher level vegetables, as they give a lot more experience.
Secondly, Textile Creations is taught by George Madler in Etibule Keep. He accepts Council Certificates and Unused Cloth. I am not sure what Council Certificate are and I've never come across unused cloth yet, so these must be a higher level drop. You need close friends favour with this guy, to get any of his recipes to pursue processing the cotton from Gardening.
Finally, there is Thimble Pete in Hogan's Keep who likes Desserts, Spoons, Sexy Clothing and Tailoring recipes. Desserts probably is the fastest way to get him up in favour to get the recipes. Which means, you need a good bit of cooking to get the desserts yourself or buy them off the marketplace.
There seems to me, like there is a lot of running around, getting different favours, leveling different skills, in order to actually make cloth gear.
I am just wondering, is it really worth it for a new player starting out to get into tailoring/textile creation, because it seems like it's a lot of hassle just to even get started making basic gear.
If anyone has any tips, I'm open for feedback, on beginning the path into textile creation and tailoring.
Thanks,
