NEWBIE channel

Evenin' all! Sanguinius here.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I've founded the NEWBIE channel and encourage people to suggest it to any newer players that they may encounter.

Already several veterans have joined in order to help people such as: Seya, Teloch, Reikiko and Elhion to name a few.

The purpose of this channel is to allow players to ask questions and request help without the sarcastic or discouraging responses which the GLOBAL channel can occasionally result in.

I encourage you to, occasionally, simply inform newer players that they can /join NEWBIE and /join CURSEREMOVAL - already considerable communities have been formed.

We also encourage you to /join DEMO as this is an excellent way to assist and encourage new players to commit to joining our world.

THINKING OF HELPING?

- a modicum of understanding of early games mechanics.
- a knowledge of helpful skills which newer players may, initially, overlook such as COOKING.
- a knowledge of NPC's which can facilitate the attainment of skills. E.G.: FIRE MAGIC, GARDENING,
COOKING, STORAGE, MYCOLOGY, ALCHEMY, SHIELD, PERFORMANCE (music and dancing),
FIRST AID, ARMOR PATCHING & SURVEYING.
- a GENUINE desire to help new players
- a willingness to assist players in the lifting of CURSES as you are able or to act as a intermediary & refer new players to
parties which might help in the lifting of said CURSES (asking higher level players you know to help with said acts).
- an understanding of useful in-game resources such as NOTE PAD, STUFF TO DO & /WIKI,
- a knowledge of highly sought after skills such as NECROMANCY, SPIDER, LYCANTHROPY, BAT, COW,
RABBIT, PRIEST, DRUID or PIG & a willingness to occasionally assist in the attainment of said skills.
- a willingness to donate, if possible, early level research/ summoning/ resurrection & crafting materials such as: FIRE
SALTs, SIMPLE FIRST AID KITs, SIMPLE ARMOR REPAIR KITs, CHICKEN, FEATHERS, WOOD etc.
- a desire to encourage participation in community events such as POETRY APPRECIATION, RAFFLES & SEASONAL
EVENTS
- a knowledge of useful favor (quest lines) & areas - such as Serbule Hills & Serbule.
- a knowledge of how to leave 'NEWBIE ISLAND' & how to get to Serbule, Serbule Hills & Etibule.
- informing players that PERSONA will show their characters equipment & that holding ALT will allow equipment comparison.
- knowledge that races: HUMANS can wear earrings, ELVES belly rings, RAKSHAS tail rings.
- recommendations on how to earn COUNCILS.
- most importantly, to encourage a HEALTHY, SAFE & FUN environment.

True Silkt, but this channel is a more intensive 'help' channel specifically designed to connect veteran players with new comers.
