Welcome to Project: Gorgon!

Project: Gorgon is a 3D fantasy MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game) that features an immersive experience that allows the player to forge their own path through exploration and discovery. We won't be guiding you through a world on rails, and as a result there are many hidden secrets awaiting discovery. Project: Gorgon also features an ambitious skill based leveling system that bucks the current trend of pre-determined classes, thus allowing the player to combine skills in order to create a truly unique playing experience.

The Project: Gorgon development team is led by industry veteran Eric Heimburg. Eric has over a decade of experience working as a Senior and Lead Engineer, Developer, Designer and Producer on successful games such as Asheron’s Call 1 and 2, Star Trek Online and other successful Massively Multiplayer Online Games.

    What language to use?

I am an amateur programmer with access to a fair number of common computer languages. Is there an official ruling on whether these can be used in combination with Gorgon's code? If so, which would you use for primarily calculation and presentation of data? I was unable to find information about this in a brief survey of the site.

    Thanks.

The main points that needs to be stressed
    • Remember that it is against the terms of service to alter the Project: Gorgon game client in any way.
    • No using Cheats or exploits
    • No unauthorized third-party software that intercepts, "mines", or otherwise collects information.

    Part 1: The EULA

    Part 2: The CDN Repository
The CDN repository for Project: Gorgon's client data! This data is made available for third-party reference websites and apps. In general, you can use the contents of these data files in whatever tools you want to create, with the following caveats:

    • The copyright is retained by Elder Game, LLC. If you display player-visible text from these files (e.g. item names, effect descriptions, etc.), please include a line similar to this: "Some portions copyright <current year> Elder Game, LLC." in the footer or credits of your website or app.
    • Elder Game, LLC reserves the right to restrict these files' usage by specific individuals or for specific purposes in the future as they see fit.
    • Remember that it is against the terms of service to alter the Project: Gorgon game client in any way.

So if you are thinking about like something like build planner, you might be able to use the CDN Repository. A fan made one exists already at http://www.gorgonexplorer.com/. Without you going into detail about your plan it feels safer to say, tread careful and obey the EULA. If it is just for a useful tool that uses data exposed in the CDN then you might be alright, and you should just make sure you follow all of the Repository rules.

You might need to use view image in the context menu of the EULA image included to make it easier to read.

Thank you very much. You have obviously thought about these things a great deal, and now I must do the same. It appears that it will be possible to do what I want.
