Welcome to Project: Gorgon!

Project: Gorgon is a 3D fantasy MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game) that features an immersive experience that allows the player to forge their own path through exploration and discovery. We won't be guiding you through a world on rails, and as a result there are many hidden secrets awaiting discovery. Project: Gorgon also features an ambitious skill based leveling system that bucks the current trend of pre-determined classes, thus allowing the player to combine skills in order to create a truly unique playing experience.

The Project: Gorgon development team is led by industry veteran Eric Heimburg. Eric has over a decade of experience working as a Senior and Lead Engineer, Developer, Designer and Producer on successful games such as Asheron’s Call 1 and 2, Star Trek Online and other successful Massively Multiplayer Online Games.

Question Spider form and newbie question

Hey, I’m a new player and I have some question 😊. I’ve played for like a week and I’ve been having much fun with the animal’s form, right now I have deer at 26 and mentalism at 27. I’ve recently switch back to spider form and I’m at level 18 with it. So I was wondering it there was any good build with spider/mentalism because I’ve having a harder time making things work together than with my deer skills. Another thing is that I’m having difficulty finding gear so am I supposed to make them or buy them and what is the skill for making armor/weapon? Can spider wear weapon or shield just for the bonuses? Also, what is a good spot for grinding around my level?

Sorry I know its messy, but English isn’t my first language

Switching skillsets in general will make you feel weaker, largely because you no longer have active modifiers that increase your damage.

Spider is good though, and it's certainly worth sticking with if you enjoy it. Your best bet for level 10-20 gear is Serbule's Crypt, failing that, you could try fighting the monsters in Serbule Hills.

While spiders can technically "wear" weapons and shields (and in the latter case, they do receive the bonus armour), you can't attack with them; they're just there for the stats.

Once you feel comfortable, the Etibule Goblin dungeon is a good place to move on to.

You may be encountering damage resistance from monsters. e.g. spider attacks often use poison, to which undead are often resistant i.e. you do less damage.
Monsters are also vulnerable to some damage types i.e. you do extra damage
Matching the damage type to the monster's vulnerability can make things much easier (or vice versa).

Ensuring that the gear modifications match the spells that you are using makes a huge difference also

Just side note, you can't craft most weapons yet (will be added later), craftable are only staff and club (via carpentry). We can craft cloth and leather gear and also animal gear with toolcrafting (spider casings). Some animals also have special hats, like deer. As Oxlazr said, as an animal (or arachnid) you can equip the weapons and benefit from their stats but you can't use them in the same manner a humanoid would since you have no hands.

I believe Unarmed-themed weapons - claws, cestus, fists, etc - don't seem to interrupt animal attacks. They do drop with animal stats sometimes.

Sorry OP for the confusion. Consider weapons of all kinds to function exactly like armor does instead of how they do while out of animal form. While you are an animal, weapon slots are armor slots. You can equip whichever weapon you like, as long as your other combat skill doesn't require a certain type of weapon to function. Mentalism requires no weapon type to be usable.
