Welcome to Project: Gorgon!

Project: Gorgon is a 3D fantasy MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game) that features an immersive experience that allows the player to forge their own path through exploration and discovery. We won't be guiding you through a world on rails, and as a result there are many hidden secrets awaiting discovery. Project: Gorgon also features an ambitious skill based leveling system that bucks the current trend of pre-determined classes, thus allowing the player to combine skills in order to create a truly unique playing experience.

The Project: Gorgon development team is led by industry veteran Eric Heimburg. Eric has over a decade of experience working as a Senior and Lead Engineer, Developer, Designer and Producer on successful games such as Asheron’s Call 1 and 2, Star Trek Online and other successful Massively Multiplayer Online Games.

    Sonic Speed

    hello,

I see some people in game running around with almost sonic speed

I have about +5 items +11 mods = +16 speed and it seems that I am a snail compared to them.

do you know what mods do this kind of speed?

    thank you.

Ah Those are most likely Battle Chemistry players. They are very fast
energy derives from both the plus and negative

OK, so the people that you are seeing are probably Fire magic/Psychology builds. I can get +14 from fire magic with mods(Flesh to Fuel +7 on feet and legs) and +8(positive attitude +4 on feet and helm from psychology with mods to equal a +22. With concentrated wolfen speed juice you can get an additional +6 for a total of +28. So yes at +16 you will get blown away. very specific rolls on your gear though so not very practical for most non fire magic users, plus you speed mod for fire is relevant to the gear level so +4 at lower levels per gear and +7 on level 70 gear. Lycan/Psyc can get up to +20 as well without potion. It all depends on what skills/ mods you want to use.

Speed was recently reduced. I miss my old zoom. My cow was a rocket. Not so much any more because of the changes to psychology speed buffs, but also because the requirement to have more balance between two skill lines on gear makes the decision to have speed mods on combat gear less yummy.

When I see people zoom now, I assume they are using battle chemistry. People use druid and battlechemistry for movement in game. So those of us who choose to not use those skills do hamper ourselves. So be it.

The problem I see now is that I run everywhere. Lots of running. Slowly. Recently I have developed the habit of turning on auto run and reading news while I get places. For example, to get from Serbule to Gazluk, I point myself at a portal and read. I read multiple New York Times articles doing this. So...I'm patient. However, I definitely see why other players have made skill line choices based on transportation speed. In terms of development, I'm not sure why this is a thing. Maybe when the game is complete, footmen like myself will have alternatives.

Yeah, the speed bonuses used to not stack so linearly, and my plus +5 was decent.

There needs to be some diminishing returns here.

Shield is also nice for a quick movement burst. I'm using battle chemistry + shield as my surveying build. I'm not quite maxed in anything yet, so I get 4 standard run speed from bc extra toes, plus 11 burst sprint from haste concoction (non-stacking with toes) every 45 seconds, plus 9 burst sprint from shield's take the lead every 30 seconds. If both my burst speeds are up at the same time, I tend to move faster than my computer can load scenery and run into walls.

The main downside to this build is that playing an alt without battle chemistry feels very very slow... Hopefully the game will add some more faster movement options soon, so getting places will be less onerous for other combat skills. ( I actually love playing battle chemistry, not just for the movement, but I definitely started leveling it because I wanted to move faster.)
