none of the musical instruments can be found when using a 'Shop tracking golem' to search for them. So if anyone has an instrument for sale on their player vendor, you may need to mention it in your title.
But if you have an instrument in inventory, you can find it that way but not if search by item name.

I tried blatterhorn, ocarina, dulcimer, harp, lute, and none showed even though some player vendors had them on them. I was looking for a blatterhorn for friend and luckily i had one on me found it that way but typing name in did not work.

Yeah, I agree that when it comes to player worn gear it is spectacularly finicky to search for any of it.
