Just bought it and spent 4 hours in it, I like it pretty much so far. I've been looking for a decent mmo for a century, and I think I'll call it a day.
There are a lot of tidbit incline:
- you can take notes on map (because otherwise, maps are empty of direction/names etc.)
- you can take notes on a notepad for quests (because otherwise, quests don't update with the hints and info you find, you've got to brain it out yourself).
- everything is cool to read and it makes quests progression pretty cool > usually in mmo I can't even bother reading the horseshit within text-boxes and Quest give NPC.
- you can remap all keys + YOU CAN USE MACRO, finally a dev team that understand what's a mouse and keyboard are for. Thus you can make any combination of ALT+ CTRL+ SHIT+ for neat advantage. That alone deserve buying the game.
- xp progression is made through skill usage
- high level magic - seems - to require materials to be cast
- some parts of the writing are pretty hilarious but it was mentioned before in the thread.
- many quests require thinking, orientation, memory etc.
I didn't try to play with other players yet, we will see later.
Don't get your expectation too high, I know it might sound like pure rpg incline, but we are still discussing mmo. Now that it is on steam, there is nothing stopping you from buying, testing under 2 hours, and refunding if you don't like.
Be advised that the very first minutes are probably the worst, as the controls and gameplay will remind you every trash of the genre, only progressing further will you unveil the qualities of the game. Notably the starting location is pretty cool imo, since you're exiled to an island and need to find a way out by solving puzzles on the way.
