Welcome to Project: Gorgon!

Project: Gorgon is a 3D fantasy MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game) that features an immersive experience that allows the player to forge their own path through exploration and discovery. We won't be guiding you through a world on rails, and as a result there are many hidden secrets awaiting discovery. Project: Gorgon also features an ambitious skill based leveling system that bucks the current trend of pre-determined classes, thus allowing the player to combine skills in order to create a truly unique playing experience.

The Project: Gorgon development team is led by industry veteran Eric Heimburg. Eric has over a decade of experience working as a Senior and Lead Engineer, Developer, Designer and Producer on successful games such as Asheron’s Call 1 and 2, Star Trek Online and other successful Massively Multiplayer Online Games.

Can't log in: 'log in' button doesn't do anything.

I'm trying to use PG from Steam finally, and I've gotten my key in, Steam downloaded the game, and now when I launch steam and double-click on Project Gorgon from the Library...

...The Login screen comes up but there's a little yellow message, "There was an error authenticating with Steam." And the login button doesn't do anything.

That error message means that the game couldn't do the very beginning connection with Steam on your local machine -- usually because Steam isn't running and couldn't be started, but could also be because you aren't logged in to the right Steam account that owns the game, or something like that. What OS are you playing from?

Edit: please check the game's log (located as described here for "player": https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/LogFiles.html) and look for errors; you can probably find it by searching the log for "[Steamworks.NET]" without the quotes.

This seems important. I've checked the file and it exists, was installed by Steam.
    Code:
    Couldn't open /Users/stacey/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Project Gorgon/MacPlayer.app/Contents/Plugins/steam_api.bundle/Contents/MacOS/libsteam_api.dylib, error: dlopen(/Users/stacey/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Project Gorgon/MacPlayer.app/Contents/Plugins/steam_api.bundle/Contents/MacOS/libsteam_api.dylib, 2): no suitable image found. Did find:
    	/Users/stacey/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Project Gorgon/MacPlayer.app/Contents/Plugins/steam_api.bundle/Contents/MacOS/libsteam_api.dylib: code signature invalid for '/Users/stacey/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Project Gorgon/MacPlayer.app/Contents/Plugins/steam_api.bundle/Contents/MacOS/libsteam_api.dylib'
Then a bunch of dynamic libraries fail to load, ending with
    Code:
[Steamworks.NET] Could not load [lib]steam_api.dll/so/dylib. It's likely not in the correct location.
    System.DllNotFoundException: steam_api
      at (wrapper managed-to-native) Steamworks.NativeMethods:SteamAPI_RestartAppIfNecessary (Steamworks.AppId_t)
      at Steamworks.SteamAPI.RestartAppIfNecessary (AppId_t unOwnAppID) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
      at SteamManager.Awake () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
Also, it says fallback could not load files from MonoEmbedRuntime but there's no such directory - there's a ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Project Gorgon/MacPlayer.app/Contents/Frameworks/Mono instead.

Apple fixed part of why I hadn't upgraded from 10.10 so I did so. That meant Steam updated.

Now the log in button does something.

But I can't log in, it doesn't accept my password.

    Hmm.

And now that I've updated, the old launcher no longer works (the caches seem to be moved?)

Okay, solved. Something was unhappy with my password. It was
    Code:
