Project: Gorgon is a 3D fantasy MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game) that features an immersive experience that allows the player to forge their own path through exploration and discovery. We won't be guiding you through a world on rails, and as a result there are many hidden secrets awaiting discovery. Project: Gorgon also features an ambitious skill based leveling system that bucks the current trend of pre-determined classes, thus allowing the player to combine skills in order to create a truly unique playing experience.
The Project: Gorgon development team is led by industry veteran Eric Heimburg. Eric has over a decade of experience working as a Senior and Lead Engineer, Developer, Designer and Producer on successful games such as Asheron’s Call 1 and 2, Star Trek Online and other successful Massively Multiplayer Online Games.
I get bored easily. My current build is bard/psych at 50, and I wanted to switch it up. I was thinking BC/shield, or somesuch, but the thought of re-gearing just makes my soul tired. My question is this - do you think it's possible to have a decent go at end-game areas with really top quality generic gear? I'm referring to nothing but bonus H/A/P, enhanced recovery H/A/P, + inventory gear with no skill-specific mods?
To be clear, I know it wouldn't work nearly as well as tons of gear-specific mods. I'm just asking if it is do-able. I've never gone to gazluk or any upper level zones beyond Kur, really, so I have no idea.
Doable? Possibly maybe, but highly doubtful as you will not kill mobs quick enough
Painful? Definitely
Realistic? No. The cold debuff in Gazluk will kill you, even if the mobs don't and you won't be able to kill mobs quickly enough before they kill you (even in Ilmari).
If Kur is the refrigerator, then Gazluk is the freezer.
The game is built upon gear modifications. More mods = high damage output plus crowd control and healing capabilities.
If you don't use mods that support the skills /spells you use then your damage output is small and mobs kill you.
Ideally, you want to be able to 2-shot kill the mobs, but if not stun them etc.
Also, in Ilmari, Rahu and Gazluk mobs often attack in multiples (e.g. grimalkin often group in 3 in Ilmari) plus some mobs have immunities (e.g. scorpions in Ilmari).
In Gazluk, I have been attacked by up to 9 mobs in quick succession whilst trying to forage 1 piece of spruce.
Gazluk at 50/50 is going to be some tough fights. You'll need to be careful to draw them off to areas where you won't get adds. Get winter furs made for your skills and take cold resist potions and campfires.
