I'm sure you mean well, but you really can't compare everything in one game to another (in this case Everquest).

Different game, different design decisions.

For buffs that stack you will generally see multiple instances (icons) in your player status window with individual timers.

Nerfing an entire build due to its effectiveness against one boss in the game seems like a bit of an overreach. The OP reads like a hit job.
