As far as we can tell from game files, the guide is the only source for this recipe. One way to get another copy is to redo the quest on an alt character, with someone helping you to kill the bear if necessary. Once the alt has completed the quest, use the transfer chest near Hulon to give the guide to the other character.
Thanks for your help with this. I was hoping there'd be an alternate drop source for it. Maybe in a future release... (hint, hint)
