Welcome to Project: Gorgon!

Project: Gorgon is a 3D fantasy MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game) that features an immersive experience that allows the player to forge their own path through exploration and discovery. We won't be guiding you through a world on rails, and as a result there are many hidden secrets awaiting discovery. Project: Gorgon also features an ambitious skill based leveling system that bucks the current trend of pre-determined classes, thus allowing the player to combine skills in order to create a truly unique playing experience.

The Project: Gorgon development team is led by industry veteran Eric Heimburg. Eric has over a decade of experience working as a Senior and Lead Engineer, Developer, Designer and Producer on successful games such as Asheron’s Call 1 and 2, Star Trek Online and other successful Massively Multiplayer Online Games.

  1. All About the Guides Program

    What are Guides?
You may have seen Guides in-game before and wondered who they were. Guides are volunteers who help keep the game's public chat rooms civil. Elder Games, LLC is a tiny company and our employees can't monitor chat in real-time 24/7, so Guides act as our first line of moderation. They're also knowledgeable about the game and enjoy helping others, so you'll often see them answering newbie questions.

    What Can Guides Do?
    As chat moderators, Guides ...

  2. Dev Blog: Say Hello to Playable Fairies

    Say Hello to Playable Fairies
We've long planned to add three "advanced" character races to Project: Gorgon: Fairy, Orc, and Dwarf. Unlike the standard races (Human, Elf, and Rakshasa), the advanced races are unlocked by completing quests in-game. This is important because these races are harder to play. They require more experience and knowledge than the other races and aren't suitable for brand new players -- you at least need to understand the basics of the game first.

We're deep in the middle of coding the playable Fairy race, and after that we've got a new dungeon lined up, and after that there's a major city to add! So why talk about housing now? Because that city, Statehelm, is also where we'll introduce housing later in the year. Now is the time to brainstorm housing, to let ...

  4. Dev Blog: The Life and Death of Charged Pig

[If you're looking for info about the upcoming Fairy playable race, stay tuned -- there'll be a blog post about that soon! This blog post isn't about upcoming features at all -- it's behind-the-scenes design notes about recent game updates.]

The Life and Death of the "Charged Pig" skill
Have you ever noticed that all the talking pig NPCs in the game mention that they obtained sentience after being struck by lightning? Probably not. But they do! And this is because ...

  5. Event Blog: Crafting Caravan 2.0

[This post is from our live-event coordinator (among other things), Jackencola.]

Hello everyone! Today, I want to talk about all of the changes that have been made with the newly revised Crafting Caravan event.

    More Tasks
Using the game's live event system, we were restricted in the way we could deliver parallel tasks without there being one entity per task given. Looking forward, the casino's theater room would have filled up with NPCs very quickly as ...
