Welcome to Project: Gorgon!

Project: Gorgon is a 3D fantasy MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game) that features an immersive experience that allows the player to forge their own path through exploration and discovery. We won't be guiding you through a world on rails, and as a result there are many hidden secrets awaiting discovery. Project: Gorgon also features an ambitious skill based leveling system that bucks the current trend of pre-determined classes, thus allowing the player to combine skills in order to create a truly unique playing experience.

The Project: Gorgon development team is led by industry veteran Eric Heimburg. Eric has over a decade of experience working as a Senior and Lead Engineer, Developer, Designer and Producer on successful games such as Asheron’s Call 1 and 2, Star Trek Online and other successful Massively Multiplayer Online Games.

    The New UI Is Coming!
If you've kept up with these blog posts, you've seen me talk about the "new UI" -- it's been in the works for a long time. But we're getting close! The new user interface (UI) is in the final stages of development, just a week or two away. Let me talk about the logistics of this change, some of the technical details about why this is happening, and what benefits players will see.

    What Will Happen
The new UI is a complete rewrite of the ...

  2. Project: Gorgon will be offline on Sunday!

The datacenter that houses our main server is going offline at around midnight on Sunday (EDT). It will be offline until Sunday evening. They are physically moving a bunch of servers, including ours, to a new location, so this downtime is unavoidable. And a one-time thing.

The patcher and the forums will continue to work while the game is offline, so we will update the patcher text and this forum post with any new info.

    Thanks, and happy gorgoning!

    The "DPS Singularity"

Once a game goes past the "DPS singularity", it becomes possible to defeat ANY monster just by having a bunch of high-DPS players shoot it. This makes tanking ...

    Augmentation and Transmutation Changes

We've been gearing up for Steam launch, and one important thing we need to do is make sure that new players aren't constantly competing with higher-level players for resources. There will always be some sticky points -- in fact, having a few shared resources is fun. But right now the game encourages higher-level players to buy up (or farm) low-level gear for Transmutation and Augmentation skills. This update fixes some of that problem.

  5. Dev Blog, August 5, 2017

Real quick update! We're extremely busy right now on the next snapshot, which will include a major overhaul of South Serbule as well as a new community activity.

Say Goodbye to South Serbule ...
... And hello to the new Serbule Lowlands!

New players often think that "South Serbule" is a location on the Serbule map -- as in, "the southern part of the Serbule zone." On the one hand, that's easy to fix: somebody tells them it's an entirely different ...
