Welcome to Project: Gorgon!

Project: Gorgon is a 3D fantasy MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game) that features an immersive experience that allows the player to forge their own path through exploration and discovery. We won't be guiding you through a world on rails, and as a result there are many hidden secrets awaiting discovery. Project: Gorgon also features an ambitious skill based leveling system that bucks the current trend of pre-determined classes, thus allowing the player to combine skills in order to create a truly unique playing experience.

The Project: Gorgon development team is led by industry veteran Eric Heimburg. Eric has over a decade of experience working as a Senior and Lead Engineer, Developer, Designer and Producer on successful games such as Asheron’s Call 1 and 2, Star Trek Online and other successful Massively Multiplayer Online Games.

  1. Dev Blog: The Life and Death of Charged Pig

[If you're looking for info about the upcoming Fairy playable race, stay tuned -- there'll be a blog post about that soon! This blog post isn't about upcoming features at all -- it's behind-the-scenes design notes about recent game updates.]

The Life and Death of the "Charged Pig" skill
Have you ever noticed that all the talking pig NPCs in the game mention that they obtained sentience after being struck by lightning? Probably not. But they do! And this is because ...

  2. Event Blog: Crafting Caravan 2.0

[This post is from our live-event coordinator (among other things), Jackencola.]

Hello everyone! Today, I want to talk about all of the changes that have been made with the newly revised Crafting Caravan event.

    More Tasks
Using the game's live event system, we were restricted in the way we could deliver parallel tasks without there being one entity per task given. Looking forward, the casino's theater room would have filled up with NPCs very quickly as ...

  3. Dev Blog: April 2, 2019

Time for another developer blog! I want to go behind-the-scenes and talk about the stuff we're working on. (This ended up being pretty long, but it's mostly shop talk; there's no earth-shattering news in here. The tldr is "next update is in a couple weeks with new content and some rebalances.")

    Next Patch Content: "War Caches"
There's a lot of features coming in the next update, but the bulk of our development time has been focused on a new system of level ...

I wanted to give you an update on our plans for near-future game updates. But first, let's talk about the demo!

    Project: Gorgon Demo Is Available!
We're happy to announce that the "demo" version of Project: Gorgon is available. This has taken a while, but we knew it was important for this game. Project: Gorgon is pretty unusual, and you can't really tell if it's going to be your thing until you try it. So now you can! (You can download it from our Steam store page ...

Works in Progress, or, The Summer Doldrums

Hi, I’m srand, Citan's partner and more-or-less second in command. Citan is unavailable at the moment (although I think I hear muffled curses coming from his subterranean lair), so I'll be delivering the dev blog today.

In previous dev blogs, we've talked about our iterative style of development. During alpha and beta our goal has been to get something out the door every two to four weeks. But it's been twice that twice that ...
