Fixed a bug that could cause you to miss some of your in-game messages during login, if you had more than one message pending.
Thank you!!! I realize I'm probably picking on the most minor change in the update but I'm really happy that I'll no longer have to worry about missing hangout messages.

It seems a big question being asked in game is - How long will the Halloween event remain active?

At least a week. Probably a few more days than that, depending on how other development scheduling stuff falls out.

I didn't think there'd be any skill updates yet, honestly. I assumed the UI update was the only thing they were working on atm.

Wanted to do some necro stuff, but I really only had a few days to do the whole event, and figured giant bat was highest priority since this is the time to get their spellbooks!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for giving bat some much needed attention. I love that echolocation does something now. I'm glad that we can get weapons with some mods for us. I understand that you had limited time and therefore appreciate you concentrating on some holes and working to close them up.
Also, love the Halloween events in general. I like that there is progression so all levels have something to do. I like that whether you prefer combat or crafting, you have the opportunity to run through some quests. I am disappointed that the loot from the event boxes has been very sub-par so far. As a needy bat I was looking forward to some upgraded armor but so far event chests up to lvl 50 have granted one neon pink piece, no gold, and mostly blue and salmon. But overall I am having a great deal of fun completing them, and they are stretching me to see how far I can push bat to be a serious class and not just a novelty:D

The Halloween event makes sense , and everyone can get something now . good change IMHO . The quests seem straight forward , although having difficulty finding Anhinda , ( I am sure its something simple ) searched entire first and second floor .. ( sad bat ) ..

This version of Halloween event is much better than loot feast that we had last year(s). I like fact we got quests that reward some nice recipes. One thing i think coudl be improved is add some bat spawns near Serbule(event-only), just so its easier to get Giant bat form.

Yes, I've been having a blast. My only complaint is that I want more quests. ;) Maybe one or two more non-combat quests, especially for lower levels might be nice? The non-combat line seemed to go fairly quickly to requiring 50 gardening and then 55 cooking, and the cooking at least is going to be quite out of the range of newer players (of course, so is the level 48 gourmand reward from it, so there is that.) I think with the current quests, lower level players still have plenty to do, it just might be nice to throw in a couple more lower level crafting recipes or quests.
I also really like croocy's idea of having some more accessible bat spawns.
I also wonder if it would be helpful to have the mummies in multiple places, or have them respawn quicker... What happened to us last night is that we had a group of 5 tearing past our group of 2 just as we were trying to get mummy disease at the beginning of the mummy area in the Windy View Cave. They took the mummy we were fighting, so we moved into the hallway past them. They took the next mummy we were fighting again as they were passing us. So, we tried to be clever and pulled our third mummy into the corner of a big room. The other group cleared out the rest of the room in a few seconds and then their bat swooped in and took our mummy again, leaving us disease-free. At that point, we decided we'd had enough, and moved back to the entrance of the mummy area to wait for repops. Which took a very very long time to show up... It wasn't the worst problem in the world (and I suspect less time-consuming than waiting for Ursula to be ready to play again), but the mummy area appears to be very linear, so if we get more players next year, it may be helpful to have more mummy spawn spots.
Either way though, I really really like the new Halloween event. :D
Edit: Oh, and I love the candy drops with all the different flavors!
In serbule you could summon Lord Serbule and when he appears there's some ghosts and bats as guards and you can try that way to get bitten, worked for me
We just had a poetry jam in Serbule and I don't think the change improved anything. Standing at small or large range from the podium (7 to 20) I didn't get any popup (on the podium, on tables, on the floor). However, as soon as I clicked it all popups would appear one click at a time until all books have been appreciated. I'm fairly certain at least 1/3 was missed entirely, but I can't tell if it was because of the range or the location.

Although the poetry range was -I think- better, when it was tested by lining people up and I got an idea of where it cut off, it seemed still half the size that I imagine feels proper. Just a thought.

Can we get a visual for ranges? Like a circle on the ground or sphere painted into the world when the podium is selected?
Having the podium set up in a corner doesn't help either, if it was moved in center of room would help out.

You can hold down Alt while the podium is selected to see how far away you are from it. Receiving poetry notices should have a range of 40 meters. I'm guessing it's not working correctly from the comments...

yeah, no way it is 40 meters. It cut out about 11-12 meters, and I was thinking 17 meters would be reasonable. 20 meters would be all the way to the fire place and 25 meters would be standing at nearly the very back of the room away from the stage. Just did the measurements in game.

part of that info would be the quest log, other part was a bit tricky but once it was worked out by someone, it was something I overheard.

I think it has to be an impressive skull, not just a regular one.

If we are talking about the same part (hah, spoilers are tricky) - how would you work out the second part? Reading the quest text, I knew where to go and what item to use, but when I got a vague earth rumbling message when I used the item, I assume that Lord Serbule wasn't up yet, not that I had used the wrong item type... I also figured that part out by reading chat.
And the Empusa quest text completely baffles me, but I assume that's because I never spent much time in Rahu.

On Lord S, the same thing happen to me, I still just assume it was respawn timer. I just farmed and brought- one at a time- the item till it worked. Not sure if the one that did work was any different than those before.
Empusa is tricky and it took a lot of trail and error before someone worked it out.
Anhinda's puzzle is a nightmare that I'll never be able to solve. It isn't anything straight forward.

It is quite possible it was the respawn timer. I initially got two of the rumbling messages, decided I didn't really feel like dealing with it at the moment and left. Later on, I saw someone in chat mention a specific type being needed and so I brought that with me when I came back hours later. That worked on the first try, so I assumed my initial problem was type instead of timeout. I could be wrong, though.
I haven't even looked at the Anhinda riddle - I just saw "Gazluk Keep" in the quest text and figured it's not happening. :D Since you will definitely need multiple people to kill her, maybe the idea is that one of them will be able to solve the summoning riddle?
I really liked the rather cryptic quest texts - it makes me feel clever if I can solve them. ;) That being said, I was also pretty happy that Mortimer was quite easy to find.
Regarding Anhinda, we believe we found the room where it is supposed to spawn, but we were unable to enter it, even after pulling a lever not far from there. Me and other people have sent a bug report about it. On the other hand, it just could be more complicated than a mere lever, so any idea is welcome.
