Between all the things I love about Gorgon, this kinda irks me. Weapons being stat sticks that matter as much as my ring seems very... boring.
Weapon upgrades should be interesting and something you look forward to. Right now, that's only so if said upgrade has a mod I need. If I have a weapon with the mods I want already, it's at best a tiny upgrade. Perhaps unique, weapon-only mods? e.g., a rapier-type sword and a longsword providing differing benefits and mods?

I originally used 'gloves' in the second line only to realize that weapons matter less than my gloves! Upgrading my gloves gives me more armor, and affects my refresh rate. Doesn't this seem strange to anyone else?

Of the weapons available, there actually are a few interesting ones. Notably: the ones that change your damage type!

There are already weapons that do special things.

Gaz fire sword or the fae energy bow. Also, some have bonus to some skills as inherent mods, like hammers that give increase electric dmg or offhands with trauma damage.

In my opinion there's a lot of equipment items in general that are pretty lackluster and uninteresting when they sound really special, mostly boss drops which tend to be weapons. For example, you get a unique weapon for defeating Lord Sedgewick, a ghost of a legendary figure in Etibule's lore, and the sword says it's been passed down in the Sedgewick family for generations. You'd think it'd be something special, but the only thing unique about the sword is that it gives you +20 health which isn't very interesting.

To be fair a lot of the newer content is definitely better about this. There are more unique equipment items with actual unique effects both in the Fae Realm and in the reworked Sunvale content, but a lot of the older content still has a lot of really boring "Unique" drops.
