is there any way to log in to my old account?

I had an account long ago before there was steam, then I left, and now Im back. Bought the game, but when I log in through steam it doesnt show my old character because its a new account. Is there any way to play my old character or is he gone for good?

Have you opened the game and continued through all the prompts? You should see a prompt asking if you want to connect an old account.

I only see the Click to login with your Steam account option.

edit: I guess I can just play this new character. no biggie
