Hello! This post is about an issue that I only seem to be having. Not sure why, but going to explain it here.

So, this is part of another thread I was helping in found here: https://forum.projectgorgon.com/showthread.php?2668-Moving-cause-White-Flashes-Text-all-over&p=19115&viewfull=1#post19115

I will copy from that post the most relevant parts in regard to the subject in this topic.

I spent time updating my graphics card and my Windows 10. I thought maybe I didn't have an update that was needed. It took quite a long time to do it, but in the end ...

Now, I'm stuck walking through so much of the geometry in the game. There a hill or a rise? I walk right through it like it isn't even there.

So, here are the updates I put in. I want to point out that the geometry issue didn't happen until after I did the updates:

- My graphics card is a GeForce GTX 1060 3GB. The driver is the GeForce Game Ready Driver Version 456.38 released on 9/17/2020
- Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004; Successfully installed on ‎9/‎22/‎2020
- September 8, 2020-KB4576478 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 2004; Successfully installed on ‎9/‎22/‎2020
- Security Update for Adobe Flash Player: June 9, 2020; Successfully installed on ‎9/‎22/‎2020

I made a short video from me walking from the Casino to the one entrance to the Goblin Dungeon in Eltibule. It shows not only the flashing and tearing and the text all over, but also how I clip through the geometry (is that the right word?) when near certain slopes.

This is a picture of how far I can go under the graphics while walking around Eltibule. This can happen a lot. I literally walk through things as if they weren't there, and I am still walking on a flat plane. Some places, I can pretty much be under the entire map if it is very hilly.

Thank you for posting about your experience. Have you also filled a report, in-game? If not, please do as they are logged automatically whereas forum posts are not.

What do you mean by them being logged? This isn't in one spot, it's the entire game XD Anywhere I walk this happens.

I've been thinking about this one, and I don't really have much insight to offer... it seems like it's basically broken Unity's rendering. The most likely culprit really would be a driver (or other software on your machine, like BIOS-based performance enhancers or some kind of "graphics accelerator" software that's not tuned right for this game). But since you've mostly ruled that stuff out, my next guess is a bad collection of game settings. Perhaps if your camera clipping point was flung forward and the low-res terrain was enabled on otherwise-high-res settings... well, the results wouldn't really match what you're seeing... but would give you something kind of similar. So I would try deleting your game settings to see if it helps. It's a file in your user account's public file area, you may need to enable the Explorer option to see hidden directories to see your "AppData" folder. It's here:

C:\Users\(accountname)\AppData\LocalLow\Elder Game\Project Gorgon\GorgonSettings.txt

Just delete or rename that file and the game will create a new one next time you run. Next time you start the game, turn off the "Auto-Adjust Quality Level" option in the graphics settings, and just set the game on Good graphics with no overrides... let's see if that fixes the problem!

Thanks for the post!

I did update my GeForce Experience the day before this clipping through the graphics happened, so I could see about rolling it back. I will look into that first before trying your other suggestions!

ADD1: Since the GeForce Experience deletes the old driver when a new one is put it, it is not easy for me to go through the process of using an unofficial site to grab and install an older version for my graphics card. Not gonna take the risk of messing something up XD So in a few I will try your suggestion.

ADD2: I removed the file you stated, set up the graphics options as you stated, then Logged Out before closing the window. Logging back in, and forgoing fiddling with my UI, I ran to southwards from Serbule and ....

No running through the ground!

So that is a big plus! I'm going to now set up just the UI so I can see better where things are, and will let you know if anything changes

That's good news! If you make more changes and end up reproducing the problem, please save your GorgonSettings.txt file and email it to me at eric@projectgorgon.com, it may help figure out what's going on.
