After the forums had a hiccup, time-travel happened and I figure I’d re-create it with my own bias. Other people had fae-thoughts so I thought I’d make a post for that!
The fae racial skills are great. I’ve seen people excited enough to take it to global when people unlock the 30-slot storage. However, I don’t think there are many players who will continue the fae-racial quests after they cap the skill.
Soul anchor rune woes:
I think opening the hive quests up to non-fae will allow for more Fairy soul anchors to enter the market. Having more hives give quest probably wont motivate me to do the quest tbh. I don’t know what players will be willing to spend for them, but I kind of expect (puts on tin foil hat) mass socialism where friends of the fae will join the quest and just trade the reward over to make bag space. Turning 100 fae points into a soul anchor I think would be balanced because doing that in a dungeon comes with great risk because you won’t have enough points to consume it if you die.
In Niph’s post he talked about knife. Don’t recall what he said exactly, but similar to him, I started out using Slicing ice and swapped it out for the regular slice after not so long. I just burn through my crystal ice and I know I can’t really sustain that long term, so I hold off. Theoretically, the perfect way I would use it in GK would be: gather junk until I get to the snail area, then break everything down and make it rain icey death. But in practice, I’m staying cheap with crystal ice and my fan of blades I use is lvl 1 so I can use it for the poison debuff. You probably weren’t intending on players doing that, but that’s what I do.
The fae inventory issue thing is rough. I’ve learned you just need pockets on pants or shirt and break down everything. I get that the pocket situation is not changing or negotiable. If I have 1 set on me and am mindful about what else I carry, I’m fine. I think breaking everything down is part of fairy life. The down side is, I am missing out on the income I would normally get from selling gear/animal trophies. If I did not use my other character to funnel money into my fae, my experience would be an unorganized disaster struggling to find content that safely gives me money. If I would change anything, I would add a fae only quest reward in Sun Vale that temporarily buffs storage by like ~5 to help people manage things at low level.
