Would be great to know what is going to be wiped and what will be left untouched. There has been a lot of speculation, but a more definite answer would be appreciated. Especially for those of us putting in thousands of hours.
Thank you

There will be no wipe until full release, meaning when the game leaves Steam Early Access. That said, some aspects of your character will be wiped including but not limited to: items, currency, NPC favor levels, and favor-quests. Most skills will not be wiped. Please note, this is subject to change.

As u can read ,at this moment we know for sure that those will be wiped: 1.items 2.currency 3.favor levels and favor-quest
and there are some RUMORS that councils and casino storage size will not be wiped

Please stop with the rumors. Admin Sims answered the question with the best information currently available.

Whenever this subject comes up, we get an answer from the admins. That IS the answer. For years we've been told that councils and inventory will be wiped, so they probably will. When any other decision is actually made, I'm sure the devs and admins will share that information with the community.

Anything else remains speculation.

Why would the decisions ne subject to change. Especially for the worse. Players are relying on your integrity.
It gives me an uneasy feeling personally from past experiences with promises and statements made by Turbine and Warner bros.

As a long-time player, I've seen many changes to the game, often through the introduction of new skills or mechanics. When these are introduced, it's often surprising to see how they impact previous systems. Sometimes bugs pop up. Once or twice, changes have resulted in a necessary rebalance of previous skills that has adjusted their levels. The last time this happened was February 2016, when the Lore skill was recalculated after bugs were fixed that previously allowed players to reach skill levels that should not have been possible.

Sorry if it's a bit off-topic, but I just wanted to mention that the wipe might sound super scary but it's not something to worry about because of how Project Gorgon is designed.

The wipe will make you lose your current money/item/favor, but the thing is that everyone has invested a huge amount of money into leveling their character and gaining new skills, which won't get wiped. Unless if you are at end game and have everything you care about at max level, you might be losing 1% of the wealth you've collected at most (And even then if a wipe date gets announced, you can easily dump all your remaining money into training a skill last minute).
Even for end game players who have everything capped you're probably only losing a small portion unless if you're hanging onto 100+ million or something. Not only that, but apparently there will be skill cap increases before the wipe, so you'll definitely have more things to dump money into to make it "Wipe proof".

As long as you have a half-decent money making method after the wipe (Which can just be killing trash and vendoring the spoils), you'll regain your favor with NPCs very quickly just by buying it back. Unlike your first playthrough, you don't need to slowly grind gifts as a newbie in poverty to gain favor with NPCs, you can just farm money and straight up buy items to give for favor (Most NPCs can be brought to Like Family with 10k worth of items or less). Not only that but you can pretty much ignore any NPCs that you raised favor with just for training, assuming you got all their training before the wipe. Plus, you now have a bunch of bonuses to favor gain through Notoriety and Civic pride.

For the most part, the wipe will just be really annoying for a couple of days since you'll be naked with no gear or even food and therefore really weak. It'll be awkward, but once you get some usable pieces you should be able to get back into your comfort zone pretty quickly.

Favor levels is the only one that really scares me, that's a ludicrous amount of effort to be wiped. That or tradeskills.

For me is mainly the Hulon and Qatik storage, investing huge amount of resources just like we do in skills to unlock it and would like a more defined answer on this matter.

I agree with the above message ^

Thank you for the clarification Yaffy.
You are absolutely right, IF skills are left untouched.
So often things change last minute.
Would also love to know about Hulon and Qatik's storage.

I can't seem to find the exact verbiage, but the only skills they would be willing to nuke would be if it underwent a total re-vamp. For example, if they add Axe ~3 months before the game goes live, and it proves to be beyond OP, the earned EXP is going on the chopping block if their solution is to make every Axe skill behave differently. No skill seems anywhere close to that level of broken currently. Heck, Bard had issues for a very long time before it was addressed, and it's still a crazy strong class but so few people try it because soloing 20 mobs now takes 2 minutes. Don't forget, not every combat skill and non combat skill is in the game yet. The 'keeping the door open' is their insurance policy to keep control of things. Everyone should sleep well at night knowing players like Yaffy are absolutely going to test every combination to figure out if something is out of wack, so that drastic measures dont need to be happen. This is Beta though, so expect heavy rebalancing before it goes live, because that is what beta really means to the our favorite Floridians.

The issue with the casino/Hulon is in the vagueness of the word "should" via Jackencola in global.

Line 3999: 19-01-22 23:43:45 [Global] -ADMIN- Jackencola: yes favor-based storage will be reset
Line 4006: 19-01-22 23:44:08 [Global] -ADMIN- Jackencola: casino storage should be safe
Line 4011: 19-01-22 23:44:27 [Global] -ADMIN- Jackencola: as will Hulon's

Or maybe Jackencola is really just saying that to increase the price of casino tokens!
