Can't Load Serbule!

Like the title says, Serbule won't load, and I'm stuck on the loading screen.

The game starts without any trouble, and takes me to the character screen as normal. But clicking on either of my two characters in Serbule takes me to the zone loading screen, where it seems to freeze. That is, the progress bar stops at about the halfway mark with the message "loading scene..."

I say "seems to freeze" because meanwhile, the sound loads - I can hear sound effects in the background, and when I hit UI keys like "I" for inventory, I can hear the sounds of the window opening and closing. So it seems that the game is still working, but I just can't see anything but the loading screen.

This happens for both of my characters.

I made a third character just to try the "/unstick char" command, and that worked. I was able to play in multiple zones without trouble - until I tried to enter Serbule. And the problem happened again. So it seems to be only Serbule that does this.

I've tried reinstalling the game, and still no luck.

Any suggestions?

Lower your main graphics settings, adjust tree draw distance, disable most popups (chat boxes, combat numbers, etc.). Try to bring the load on your CPU down overall, without sacrificing so much that you are forced into Runescape Classic mode. Load issues in Serbule used to be common, though I haven't seen many reports since the optimization updates / Steam rollout. There were some "experimental" commands available for disabling meshes, but I'm not sure if they are still applicable.

Update:

I followed Daguin's suggestion, and it worked - a little: at the lowest settings, I was able to log in to those characters in Serbule.

After that, I switched the graphics presets to see at what point the problem occurs.

I had no problem until I got to "fair" - there, logging in to one character was fine, but the other was still stuck on the loading screen, with the bottom message flickering between "loading scene" and "loading 70 additional assets..."

Going from "fair" to "good," I was unable to log in to either character. The one outside of Sebule still had no problem, even at higher settings.

So, as far as I can tell, the problem is specific to Serbule, and happens occasionally with the "fair" setting, and always with the "good" setting or higher.

The game systems in Serbule are different than what you will find in most of the other zones. As a result it is more demanding on you computer, causes the issues you are experiencing. Closing other programs like web browsers may free up resources that will allow the game to work better. Closer to launch, optimization will become more a focus and hopefully you'll be able to use higher graphic settings to play.

I understand what you're saying, but unfortunately, this has only happened since the Casino update.

I've played over 650 hours with this never happening, so I know that it is not merely a case of "high demand" on my computer.

This is almost certainly related to the latest update, and I want to alert the devs to it. Perhaps it is something that would eventually be fixed with "optimiztion," but it may be a bug that they would otherwise not know about.

In the past, devs have suggested sending an email to support@projectgorgon.com with your machine specs, and possibly a log file of your game / any crashes. They can better respond to you on an individual basis that way.

I forget how to do it but im pretty sure if you hold ctrl or alt while logging in it will force the game to load in the lowest setting possible if you figure out how to do that and it works which I will apologies in advance because I dont remember how then good if not I hate to say it buy a new laptop or pc all down to money your willing to spend
