I am speculating in a different direction, some of which involves a form of "player vs. player" that is more like "player harassing player":

I have pretty specific reasons for believing this such as psychic powers, prophetic vision, and being fueled by large amounts of sleep deprivation and disgusting amounts of chocolate. These things have lead me to a "speculation" (more like conclusion) on what the next patch has in store for us.

The Red Wing casino will be a location in the sky, yes on the clouds, that we have to teleport into by paying a cost of 1,000,000 councils . That is a permanent membership so obviously any new player should be able to come up with that in their first 2-3 hours of gameplay. Once inside the casino you can compete in a variety of activities and new skills, for example:

1. Face-eating skill: this skill gives the character powers such as "psychotic lunge", "munch on face", and "digest humanoid/animal". It is possible to use in any location including the spawning zone for new characters. You can also pay $15 to immediately grant yourself the ability to use any of these abilities without cooldowns. The face eating skill is pretty low level of power: munch on face and digest humanoid/animal only delete their character once. A minimal risk for fellow players when exploring the new world of PG post patch.

2. The Dying skill level cap will be raised to 80 and along with that it will grant special powers to mitigate the effects of other player's use of face eating. For example, you can learn new death cries such as "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" that will show in local chat and have an accompanying sound effect that sounds like it. Another example of a Dying skill that mitigates the power of face-eating is a repeated sound effect which the player eating you will have on endless repeat (even with sound off) which state "How could this happen to me?" for 24 hours of gameplay time (when that skill is bought and dying is at 80). So the fellow player will have to consider the trade off: sure they can cause significant annoyance to another player but if their dying skill takes effect then they have obnoxious sounds to put up with. One final Dying ability involves a repeated, unavoidable sound effect of the wolf howl spam that occurs in Serbule but it follows the player for an infinite amount of time.

3. There were will be a new animal form: brain-bug form. Yes that's right those pesky bugs that drain your mana in a low level dungeon will be a form you can assume. There is a variety of abilities I have seen in my visions but one is "Psychically damaging long pointless post about speculation on the next patch" in which you can approach fellow players and redirect them to any thread you have created (such as mine) which they will be forced to write a reply which is then peer reviewed and if they fail to provide an interesting reply their character loses 20 levels in all skills . This brain bug ability can only be used once per day.

4. Gambling in game money for real life pickled goods: that's right, you can bet money and the prizes are various pickled foods shipped to you. WOW! Talk about developer involvement.

I don't want to spoil any more. Can't wait to see the rest.

Now that the screed finally dropped for me on what "Red Wing" stands for, I wonder if we'll get to play Rage Deck in the casino. For some reason, that hangout with Helena always made me want to actually play the game ( and gloriously win it, of course). Speaking of hangout games, maybe we could have a casino version of pin-finger, too? Playing that with mantises could be ... weird.

Just hoping they have blackjack and poker because those are the only ones I know how to play to a certain extent anyways

The more different from real life stuff, the better imo. You can find a blackjack simulator anywhere but there will be only one place to play Monsters & Mantises. I was pretty non-excited about the casino announcement initially because I don't get gambling but I love the game concepts Citan's talked about so far.

I'm just glad that there will be three less junk items taking up storage space :) Overall reminds me of the Dens of Iniquity from AC, so pretty excited to see what the devs have in store for us!

So many ideas I hope at least one happens.

Ride them Donkeys - I'm really hoping for a future inclusion where you can be a jockey and race in a mounted race where players can gamble on the events. If that goes in it would be really awesome to see player weight total (items worn + items in bags maybe?) that would combine with skill abilities like riding and maybe a sub skill jockeying that would allow for players to push mounts a bit faster or max speed longer.

Pants off Dance off - It would also be nice to do endurance dance competitions to see how long you can stay in sync with the crowd dance system currently in place.

Strong man competitions - Since there is already in game systems for showing damage done how about elite boss mobs where the most damage done receives a prize. Do overall charting to enable an odds system for players to bet on the winner of the competition. Maybe even a division for teams and individual competition?

Tribute to the hidden Rummencola - How about a small hidden item that has a once a week show rate (globally spawned even?) that is just a hide and seek goal quest for the casino given out by an NPC much like when Rummencola hid in the PvP area of Serbule a while back. Possibly giving out clues to which region its in each day till its found.

No whammy! - How about a random devil spawn that pops out of any random numbers based game on a critical failure that breaks one of your items much like hardcore mode?

Curtain number 3? - I'd really like to see one of those pick a prize behind a curtain things go on for some sort of big prize award process. Kind of like seeing option 1 visible, option 2 visible, and then some hidden option 3 where you pick.

K from the current tweeter teaser pictures Im pretty dam sure gem prices are about to go to shit if this is going to be candy crush well on the bright side I no longer have to pay someone to survey for me or me having to survey at all this is if we can only gamble gems with npcs if its other players should be ok because I am really good at these games and thats even more true for the old timers that are 50 and playing the game also pretty sure they have candy crush bot or programs that match crap for you so it wont surprise me if someone makes one for project gorgon give it 1-2 years

Pretty sure I read that the game chips are not going to be used in the new release in dev blog. Also its confirmed that there are only two games currently in the casino and the bulk of the update is all about the new hub city area. Im looking forward to it and thanks to Citan and Srand on all the hard work!

Some people are not going to have storage issues after the casino opens, they going to sell anything they got for one more round, nerfing Serbule storage space, they gonna laugh at that!
