Leveling myconic

On the wiki, it says that myconic exp is gained by harvesting mushrooms, which normally gives mycology exp but occasionally gives myconic exp instead.

I've maxed mycology, other than the bonus levels. My myconic is around 25. I need to improve my mycology one more level in order to farm a certain type of mushroom. I see three skills left that can give me a bonus level, one of which is myconic. So I'd like to raise that.

So, does anyone know whether you still have a chance of getting myconic exp when you forage, even if it is impossible to get mycology exp?

Keep picking the shrooms. Myconic levels independently from Mycology. There are also xp potions that can conceivably raise myconic. It's all random though.

You can still get myconic xp once you get max mycology. I have had max mycology for some time and still occasionally get myconic xp. My current myconic is like 48, mushrooms from lower level areas seems to have some chance of getting myconic. If you can get myconic xp from higher level mushrooms in higher level areas it must be super rare.

Oh, good point. I can't remember getting any myconic xp from higher level mushrooms. Not sure if my memory is at fault or if they really don't give myconic xp.
