View Full Version : Bad Google results for forum posts

That result points to the IP of the web server instead of the domain. There are also results pointing to www.projectgorgon.com and cdn.projectgorgon.com for the same content.

There should be a 301 redirect from the IP to the domain name preserving the URI to correct these Google results next time it crawls the site. www is not necessary. The site should be running either with or without it, not both. The server should redirect www to non-www or the other way around. Actual pages should not be available at the cdn subdomain, only static content, assuming it's supposed to actually be a cdn. Unfortunately you can't just fix the cdn subdomain by pointing it to the correct location since there are alrady results cached for forum content at it for some reason.

Fixing these issues will improve search ranking in all search engines.

That is in reference to the old forums which are closed and are being phased out. Thanks for the heads up though.
