I don't own a Steam account and I don't plan on having one.

The game interest me a whole lot and I'd love to buy the game, but if it's Steam exclusive...

Will the game eventually release on other distribution platforms or as a stand-alone?

The development plan is to have more authentication servers in the future.

Currently they only have the one authentication service, and they don't plan on supporting more than one at this time. So it's switch to Steam or wait.

You can play the Alpha launcher until it closes, which I hope is a bit longer, since I haven't been able to log into it via Steam...
