I watched part of that stream yesterday and I noticed that she had some inventory items with big red X's on them. What is that?

Is it an option to not drop or sell those items? If so, then how do you do it?

They're most likely legacied items that broke. After an item goes legacy, you have one month to turn it in to the "Legacy Item Replacer" (http://wiki.projectgorgon.com/wiki/Legacy_Item_Replacer), for a similar item with updated mods, until it breaks like we can see in the stream. Even after it breaks though, you still have the option to turn it in for a similar item, you just aren't able to use it until you do that. They still act as regular items though, you can drop it or sell it if you'd rather just do that.
