View Full Version : UI/Video odity Oddity in Gazluk
After entering Gazluk now:
The frame rate drops to about ~5
Hovering over UI items makes things resize in odd ways
Clicking on any thing, and pressing USE fixes the problem.
Not had this before, but I saw someone else post the same thing.

For the first time in years, I played last night & into the early hours of today. :) On the tutorial island & in the whole of the underground, everything was fine. On leaving the cave, not long after, I experienced the same strange effect seen in Murk's video except, in my case, the flashing boxes were completely blank. Also, although I don't think that it's related, the game stopped responding several times so that I had to CAD out. As it was nearly 4AM I decided to call it a night, or morning... :p

Just an update, after 2 days of playing with the same problem, i.e., the strange window configurations, usually completely empty of any text, flashing on & off & eventually freezing the game -
I had already changed the settings from DirectX 11 to 9 as suggested, but this didn't seem to have any effect. I had checked the Graphics setting in game & it was at 1 so thought that was okay.
Yesterday I changed that setting to 0:Bad & this had a positive effect. First I have to say that the graphics at that setting are fine by me, still decent. Second now when the problem described above happens, the oversize flashing windows have text. If I wait 30 seconds or so, these boxes slowly resize to normal & then slowly stop flashing. More often than not, I'm able to complete the transaction.
Another improvement is that before, when the game froze, no matter how long I waited, it remained in the "not responding" stage. As of the reduction in graphics, now when the game freezes, the game resumes after a wait of around 1 to 2 minutes.
It doesn't seem to matter if others are near me or not. Downloading the new update patch now & really looking forward to playing again. :)
