I made a forums account first but I can't log into it with the launcher - I can only log in as "guest". When will I be able to log in as my account?

The forum and game are separate accounts. Just Log in as Guest, you will be given an option to make the character real, after you finish the character creation and are in the game.

This setup will be changing very soon, but it is the way it works currently.
