The bug-report window now has a slot to drop an item. If you're reporting a buggy item, please include it in the report! (The item will not be removed from your inventory, of course.)
Ok, this is the best update ever!! :D I've wanted that feature for so long now!

Concerning the stall crash on loading new zone, the update didn't change anything for me. After an /unstickchar, my main is still stuck on Anagoge. Any attempt to go back to Serbule still ends up the same way as before, even with the retro graphics settings : loading screen starts, show "Loading scene..."... the red bar progresses a bit, then the game stalls, never to reach the Load assets part.
If it's of any help, I've saved sample of system monitoring Gorgon Project app (which is considered by system to be inactive). Where should I send this file in case it would help you?

I guess this is a goodbye for me... Really loved this game when I was able to play it... Dirty Old Men, I will miss you all.
Devs, keep up the good work! If ever this bug is erased, I'll sure come back.

Shlika : have you tried completely removing and then reinstalling? Sounds like it could be missing/corrupt asset files

Is there somewhere that shows changes currently being worked on or planned to be worked on? The UI changes are great so far but there are still a lot of suggestions that could help with the vast amount of items, abilities, and recipes in this game, such as a basic text input to search/filter/sort lists.

Since I started playing some two weaks ago I've been experiencing checkerboarding artifacts in this game. Recently I updated the graphics drivers and was tickled to see it cleared up. The checkerboarding returned after the patch, however when I enabled OptimizeMeshes the checkerboarding cleared up (again). I guess it could be a coincidence, but OptimizeMeshes gets my approval anyways.

Game and zone loading seems much quicker too. However, I still see the Windows error after the game closes. Two thumbs up from me! :)

i7 930 2.8GHz
nVidia GTX 670
Windows 7 64-bit

I have the Special Graphics Options set to DirectX11, and I switch between running Bad and Good graphics settings in game depending on the zone.

Awesome update! I love that we can see monster info with a key bound to it, and the lower graphics* setting works wonders for my low end crappy PC! So far, no major probs, been only about 15 mins spent in Serb. I'll update if I notice any changes. So far, it has been a blessing for me!

Edit: Had written *OptimizeMeshes instead of graphics before. Sorry about that

Very happy to report that I am able to run at the 0: Bad setting and port between Serbule, Serbule Hills and Eltibule with somewhat long loads, but no freezing. As the evening wore on and the population was reduced, it seemed to load a bit faster (By then, I had stopped recording the wait time.)

I saw the "not responding" message on the window title bar every time, always at the "Preparing to Load" game message when the progress bar had not yet moved very far. This occurred whether logging in or changing zones.

The longest I waited was 2 1/2 minutes, and then the "not responding" message disappeared and the process would continue. Most of the time this initial non-response was more like 45 - 60 seconds. I did not see it hang up at all in the usual spot it did before, at loading a certain number asset.

I did not use the Experimental Optimization setting yet. I wanted to try one variable at a time. I'm looking forward to trying it when I'm able to play again.

I had a fun game session. Thanks!

Ok there's a problem for me now. My launcher keep re-updating itself and every time it launches, it says ur running the older version, please download the latest version. I had played the game once, and when i wanted to test out OptimizeMeshes, I closed the game and reran the launcher and this happened since then. I've tried validating install, safe mode, deleting all copies, reinstalling, everything...any suggestions?

Edit: So after more attempts, I basically understood that my launcher keeps downloading Version 0.4.137 instead of 0.4.138. Once my launcher downloads the game and I start it, the login screen tells me I'm running the older above-mentioned version of the client.

Ok, well before I could even get logged in to set up OptimizeMeshes, game hung/crashed while attempting to load. (Crash message 075052). Anyway they said report such stuff here at the moment so I am doing so. 2nd time, got in, though, and yeah I like the optimizer. I also tried all thee different graphics settings - um, yeah, it runs great at the lowest if I can get past the fact it looks terrible! "Fair" seems to be the best tradeoff for me at the moment, at least on this old laptop. Unfortunately game crashed again while I was trying to get off of Unity... oh, no, Precious, we don't like that setting!

Hrm, trying still to get back in - tried both characters, no dice. It's now hung/crashed three times, the last on error message 094726. Going to try and see what happens if I create a newbie character, since newbie island has always worked best in the past on this computer.

I do like new update , I also believe many issue reside with the launcher : sometimes i see the update or play Project Gorgon , sometimes i do not . Sometimes after logging in i see characters list sometimes it hangs waiting for character list which never happens . so i exit then restart launcher sometimes it works sometimes not . I'm using V7 laucher

As for in game : I can play ultra or bad .. fraps good either way . but the erratic character swings in serbule and kur and other areas still happens perhaps not as bad but its noticeable .

Side note . When you added abilitiestip x /y it never went to top left corner no matter what setting i put it at , you then fixed and updated those , still never goes to top left corner but it does go higher and towards left . just not all the way . which brings up a problem which might be related . low res ground ? as no matter what setting it is on the item on ground never is above ground , depending on setting i can get it to show up partially above ground . which might be related to all those survey issues of the node not being found or seen even when at spot ? also related in dungeons trying to click exit from doorway say not close enough yet can get no closer sometimes i try to jump click it works . again perhaps something to do with low res ground ? ...

One person had a similar issue before, you could maybe check the following thread and maybe see if it applies to you as well.

Hello there, thank you for that link to that page. My problem seems to be the exact same as the one in the thread. I have tried using VPN to download, and im sure its downloading the correct files (430ish files on 3950 MB vs. the problematic 431 files on 3967 MB). I have not downloaded the game fully as my VPN is a free version, and downloads at 14-15 KB/s. I've tried completely removing my browser cache, cleared DNS cache using CMD, deleted whatever registry entry i could find, any "TempData" type folders and even tried it on a different account. Like the thread says, this seems to be a network cache problem. How do i reset my network cache?

I don't think you can have any effect on that, it is at the Internet Service provider Level or Telecom Level. If it is the issue I am thinking of, it is usually something that gets sorted out eventually, but your using a workaround to bypass it currently. Not really all that knowledgeable about networking and such, so kind of only guessing :).

Thats sad...looks like I can't do anything about it...:/ What about reformatting my PC? I was about to do it one day anyway, will that have an effect?

So I just gotta wait it out eh? As of now I've not played yet, even using the workaround.

Not unless your computer has a cached copy of the internet on it.

So....does that mean I should try the formatting?

No, reformatting won't help based on how you've described the issue. Please try playing through a VPN. There is a free vpn service called Windscribe (https://windscribe.com/download). Try using Windscribe, then select a US location. Then launch Project: Gorgon. Once the update is completed, stay connected via Windscribe and try to play. If you disconnect from Windscribe and then open the launcher, you could run into the same problem - so you will need to continue to use it until the networking issue clears up. Please report back.

If you are experiencing issues related to freezing, please make sure that you've tried everything listed in this support thread (https://forum.projectgorgon.com/showthread.php?136-Project-Gorgon-Support-Troubleshooting-Read-First!). Specifically, validate your installation after updating. Make sure that you have no other programs open when you are trying to play Project: Gorgon, including browser windows. Try disabling your anti-virus/firewall temporarily to see if there is improvement. Basically, try EVERYTHING listed in the above referenced thead. Lastly, ensure that you are always using the launcher to play and not the direct excutable.

Thank you for your quick response! I found a quick workaround to this problem! It is indeed a network issue. What I did was to connect my mobile tethering, and run the launcher using that, and it started downloading the correct file version. Once the download started, I instantly switched to my normal network (Since i dont have much data left in my mobile network) and downloaded the remaining files. Once that download is done, I made a copy of those files into a new directory, and just to confirm, reran my launcher using my normal network, and it rolled back to the older version. I guess what I am about to do now is to open the game using WindowsPlayer.exe (from the correct updated version 0.4.138 of files i had copied out) and not the launcher, this way I can continue playing on my normal network.

Regarding the above post, I had tried almost all the mentioned fixes, and it had not worked Also, like i mentioned earlier, it seems as if I have to play using the direct executable for the time being, until my network decides to work fine. Thank you very much to everyone who had helped :)

Feedback on 'OptimizeMeshes'
Generally an improvement of 5 FPS in Serbule (from c. 30 to 35) plus all stuttering whilst loading artefacts has been eliminated. Much smoother now.
Screen loading times have reduced i.e. improved
Using a Mac.

In Gazluk, FPS bouncing between 50 to 80 as I fly over groups of mobs, but no stuttering apparent

Graphics Feedback
GPU: Radeon RX580 8GB
CPU: AMD FX-8350

Quality - running on Ultra only costs me about 2-4 fps compared to Fantastic, but feels more fluid and responsive...not to mention looks great! Dipping in and out of water no longer creates graphics stutter.

OptimizeMeshes -
- No noticeable change to framerate
- Load times are slightly faster
- In the graphically updated zones (Serb, Serb Hills), there is a hard, pronounced stutter every single time someone loads into the area. While this does occur sometimes with the option disabled, it only happens when the area is under heavy stress.

Other Feedback

The addition of the right click options for distill/decompose/extract are a wonderful quality of life improvement! Makes life so much simpler when taking that short break from dungeon running to clear your inventory.

First and foremost, I am somewhat aware of how monumental a task it is work on a game of this scope, I am greatly appreciative of the work that has been done to get the game to this stage. I wonder if the changes made to level 70 transmutation were intentional. I'm guessing the fact we can no longer distill some weapons and anything without a specified class on it was not. However, for those of us who missed the boat on getting to 70 transmutation before the patch, the amount of experience required to level transmutation past 60 seems excessive. It is Extremely hard to get enough level 60 items to break down for the exp required for 60-61. This is, of course, considering very few if any people are willing or able to group up for level 60 content. Just to be clear, I'm not asking for it to be easy, but maybe some kind of event could be done to encourage grouping in level 60 content to help people like myself get others interest in groups for this level. I will make a seperate post with suggestions with some ideas for such events.

Here is last weeks poetry session. I set the graphics quality to -2. Nvidia 880M 4Gb (SLI off). Lots of humanoids in the picture. The curious thing is that the GPU and CPU aren't particularly busy apart from a few spikes. I didn't graph anything them this time, just a snapshot. Frame rates are 18 - 25.

This gap has been in place for a while now, but it seems weird to me as well. It really feels like the level 61 transmutation recipe should be learnable at 60 to cover the huge xp increase from 60 to 61. I eventually got from 60 to 61 with a few hundred transmutes - I made the assumption that my xp depended on the recipe used, not the item level, so I was just transmuting anything level 31-60 to slowly get my xp.
